Today was my favorite kind of day. Weather was in the late 60's, it rained most of the day, business wasn't very busy, and I just hung around the house in my sweats all day with no make-up on and my hair in a ponytail. How beautiful is that :) Well not as beautiful as it is outside!!! The vibrant reds, oranges, and greens that fill the beautiful Texas landscape just puts a big smile on my face! It's incredible, breathtaking and I find myself just staring at the masterpeice our Lord has created for us!
Days like this just make me want to curl up with my fuzzy blankie, sip hot apple cider, and read a good book. That's my plan for tomorrow anyway! Hopefully it will be cold enough for me to turn my fireplace on!!! A warm fire and a book... that almost sounds perfect!!!
Speaking of good books... I am currently reading "Living as if Heaven Matters" by David Shibley. It's fantastic... and don't be fooled by the soft title. This is a powerful book that will inspire, challenge, and compel you to invest your life into those things that are eternal. My favorite missionary Jim Elliot said "He is no fool who gives away what he cannot keep to gain what is eternal". Reading this book has made me search within myself and ask, is what I am doing now going to matter 100 years from now? Do I want to look back on my life and regret I didn't do more to reach just 1 more lost soul?
I desire to have a heart that hurts for the lost, a heart that loves unconditionally, and a heart that passionately follows after GOD forsaking all else.
I am challenged to examine my own life and make the necessary changes to take up my cross and follow HIM who first loved me.
Well... there's more in my heart that i yearn to share but I think that's enough for tonight. I am off to feed the puppies, then to bed. Morning comes early in this house and with 3 kids to feed and get ready for school, I need a good night sleep!
OHHHHHH I think I'm gonna make pumpkin pancakes for breakfast tomorrow with peacan syrup! YUMMY!!!!!!
Night Night!
